Where to get into blackrock depths

Blackrock Depths is located inside the lowest part of Blackrock Mountain. To reach it, you will need to cross the chain to the central island, then follow the path downward to a ledge just above the lava. Follow the ledge into and through the Grinding Quarry to find the instance portal. There is no sure way of knowing which you have entered but killing the end-bosses of the parts.

Additionally, if there are no players less than level 54, then you are definitely on Blackrock Depths - Upper City. To complete the Lower City, go straight forward from the entrance portal into the cellblocks and take to the right and kill High Interrogator Gerstahn. She is the Boss who drops the Satchel.

This part is normally chosen while still at the lower level range for the dungeon. To complete the Upper City, players must kill Emperor Dagran Thaurissan —this may be an ideal time to use the Abandoned Mole Machine near the portal entrance, to shorten the length of time clearing the dungeon.

Note: Players will not receive a Satchel for killing the "wrong" boss—it will be one or the other depending on which one the dungeon finder selected. The depths are inhabited by Dark Iron dwarves , their demonic bloodhound pets, their golem creations, and their fire elemental allies.

There is also a contingent of Twilight's Hammer ambassadors inside the city and the detention block area. The dwarves in the Depths consist primarily of warrior and priest types with a handful of paladins. Outside Shadowforge City, the dwarves are all elite. Inside the city, one can find groups of two to three elite dwarves and Twilight cultists surrounded by a cadre of non-elite citizens.

Some other humanoid races appear in the city and in the Ring of Law event. The demonic bloodhounds in the Depths are renowned for their ability to sniff out stealthed rogues and druids. They will sometimes appear as a separate pack of three, and sometimes included in a group patrolling alongside a dwarf.

All of the dogs are non-elite, but their damage capability in large numbers is not to be underestimated. The golems and fire elementals in the Depths generally fit the stereotypes of their types. The golems are strong and well-armored melee attackers, though some exceptional specimens have the ability to release single-target or area-of-effect fire spells. The fire elementals dish out large amounts of fire damage with melee attacks and ranged fire spells.

Blackrock Depths is one of the two where [ Dark Iron Ore ] can be mined reliably, the other location being Molten Core. The Black Forge, located at the far back of the dungeon near a portal to Molten Core, is the only place where dark iron ore can be smelted into bars. The Black Anvil can be found in the center of the dungeon, where Lord Incendius patrols.

It is required for most crafting recipes that use dark iron bars. As such, a run in BRD is essential to most blacksmithing or engineering work which uses that rare metal. Since these recipes are principally armor with heavy fire resistance values, they are not frequently crafted anymore except for novelty. Scattered around Blackrock Depths are Blacksmithing Plans which appear as scrolls that can be clicked on with a gear icon. Only a high level Blacksmith should click on these plans, if anyone without high level blacksmithing attempts to use them the plans will be destroyed.

Opening the scroll will teach you one of the following BoP plans:. Overmaster Pyron , who patrols in the Masonary in front of the instance, drops [ Pattern: Cloak of Fire ]. Celebrated by both the Horde and the Alliance, the Brewfest is a time to enjoy the fermented fruits of the harvest.

Players can venture to Blackrock Depths and defeat Coren Direbrew to get epic loot. The [ Keg-Shaped Treasure Chest ] is gained when defeating him the first time every day, which can contain an epic mount. The mount is not a guaranteed drop, but the mounts are not faction-specific.

Blackrock Deeps is a dungeon located under the Blackrock Spire fortress. One of the more talented masons of the Dark Iron clan , Franclorn Forgewright , created this dungeon after Ragnaros was summoned.

Rumor has it that Ragnaros dwells here with the remaining Dark Iron dwarves who do his bidding. No one can get inside, though any who try and manage to survive babble about armies made of moving stone. One wonders what Ragnaros plans to do with this army once he retakes the fortress from the draconic forces that control the upper levels. Wowpedia Explore. Main Page All Pages. World of Warcraft. There are three sets of hallways out of this foyer. The rightmost hallway curves and connects up to the second one in a semi-circle. The third and fourth hallways also curve into each other and lead to the Ring of Law and several other jail cells which you don't have to worry about unless you are doing Jailbreak!. The fifth hallway leads to the Shadowforge Lock, which we can forget for now, since we don't have the Shadowforge Key yet.

Proceed to the second hallway from the right and start clearing the pockets of mobs standing around outside the cells. If you have a rogue in the party, you can make your way to the cells you want immediately and have the rogue pick the lock on the doors. Otherwise, you will have to kill High Interrogator Gerstahn to get the key. Gerstahn is in a room further down the hall, at the point where it connects up to the first hallway. I would suggest killing Gerstahn while you're in the area anyway, because you will need to make a couple more visits to Windsor in the future and the key will certainly come in handy then.

Windsor will give you the follow-up quest Abandoned Hope, which requires you to take a message back to Marshal Maxwell in Burning Steppes. Make sure you complete this quest before coming back to BRD because it triggers a note drop from a random BRD mob that starts the quest A Crumpled Note, still part of the Onyxia key quest chain.

If you have a rogue in the party, you can make your way to his cell immediately and have the rogue pick the lock on the cell door. Before talking to Commander Gor'Shak, clear the mobs around his cell. Talking to him activates a rescue quest, and a huge mob will all swarm into his cell, trying to kill him. You MUST keep him alive to complete the quest so watch his health and draw aggro from any mob attacking him, whether or not you are a tank. It is imperative that you keep the aggro from Gor'Shak because he does not have a lot of health points.

Warriors should spam demoralizing shout and do your best to keep the mobs on you and away from him. If you succeed, go talk to Kharan Mighthammer in the opposite cell and listen to his story. He will ask you to take a message to Thrall in Kargath, Badlands. If you fail the quest, you can either reset the instance and try again, or forget about this quest and move on to the Ring of Law. Once you've completed the quests in the jail area, head back to the foyer and take the hallway east to the Ring of Law, a gladiator's arena above which there are hostile spectators.

If your group successfully defeats the mobs thrown at you, the spectators decide that they like you and will turn neutral. To trigger the event, enter the arena, make sure your whole party is inside the room, and go stand over the grate in the center. The script will then unfold, locking you inside the room until you have defeated three waves of mobs. Defeating all three waves causes the gates to reopen.

Now, take the West gate and go up the ramp into the East Garrison. Without venturing into the room, go up a second flight of stairs into the spectators' gallery.

Walk through the gallery and over to the other side. Right outside the gallery, you will encounter a group of hostile mobs. Pull and fight these with caution into the gallery, but take care not to use any AoE area-of-effect spells or attacks, lest you turn the friendly spectators against your party.

The hallway outside runs left to right. Turn left into the Domicile area and make your way through, keeping left and pulling the mobs carefully so you don't aggro more than one group at a time. Beyond the Domicile area is a balcony, off which is the Relic Vault, where you can find the Heart of the Mountain. Before going into the vault, make sure your party has 12 relic coffer keys with you.

These keys are random drops from the dwarf mobs you've been fighting so far, so chances are that you will have 12 by the time you get to the vault. If you don't have 12 keys, you can proceed to Fineous Darkvire see next section and come back to the Vault later. Fight the mobs in the first room and the three elite dwarves inside the vault room.

There are also three inactive golems here that will come to life once all twelve coffers are opened. Ask your group first if they want to do this skip though. At the start go to Abandoned Mole Machine on the right. Jump over side behind you down to Lord Incendius boss 6. After killing him make your way through to final boss Fineous Darkvire boss 7.

Psychic Scream fears all nearby players. Shadow Word: Pain inflicts player with shadow damage. Boss absorbs damage with Shadow Shield. This boss is random on what spawns can be any of 6 different mobs. Flame Shock burns a player dealing fire damage. Uses Bloodlust on an ally. Inflicts fire damage to players in random locations, summoning a spawn red ooze that attack you.
