However, 4Kids decided to give the fans a hand in when they announced plans to release the unedited Japanese episodes of the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh! These episodes only stayed up for a month, before they were all removed without warning. The reason that the episodes had to be removed at that time was due to Shunsuke Kazama, who voices Yugi in Japan. There were rights issues with uploading episodes that involved his performances, as he wasn't being paid for them to be put up on YouTube for free.

The gang arrives in Egypt, where Pharaoh presents the Egyptian God cards to the stone tablet, sending his spirit 5, years into the past. Now leading a group of tomb robbers, Bakura invades the Pharaoh's palace to take down the keepers of the seven Millennium Items. Though Bakura has retreated in the face of Obelisk the Tormentor, Seto readies his army for the thief's inevitable return.
Bakura becomes even more powerful upon obtaining the Millennium Ring. With Shadi's help, the gang begins to search through Pharaoh's memories. Having stolen the Millennium Puzzle, Bakura is one step closer to resurrecting Zorc, the embodiment of pure darkness.

Though overwhelmed by Pharaoh Atem's powerful Egyptian Gods, Yugi finds a way to channel the strength within himself and fight back.
